This is the nose region of the Grey wolf (Canis lupus) adult skull, along with three worn incisor teeth. The intricate and complex morphology of the nasal bones allows the grey wolf to have an excellent sense of smell.

Grey wolves were present in Ireland before the last Ice Age up until the 1800s. They were hunted to extinction by humans for the pelts along with for human-wolf conflict reasons.

This is a black and white image, printed on professional FineArt photography photorag paper using LUCIA pigment inks, which combined have an age resistance for up to 80+ years if kept out of direct UV light.
