The silver fern and the kiwi bird are synonymous with New Zealand and are featured on their 1 dollar coin. This is a macro image showing both on the coin. The kiwi are flightless birds and are native to New Zealand. They are the smallest member of a family that contains ostriches, emus, rheas and cassowaries. The silver fern is endemic to New Zealand. They have distinctive silver-white colour on the under fronds, hence the name. 

This is a black and white image, printed on professional FineArt photography photorag paper using LUCIA pigment inks, which combined have an age resistance for up to 80+ years if kept out of direct UV light.
